Picking up my first 3rd gen rx7, have a few questions

Hi everyone,

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Dan, I live out here in the northwest.

I've always loved the body style of the 3rd gen RX-7, and now in a position to pick one up in the middle of this week.

So here is a couple of questions I wanted to ask before I do this.

The car is a '93 blk on blk with about 70k miles on it. Exterior looks great, and everything about he car that I've seen look good. my question is at 70k miles, what are the common problems I should be looking for and what are the common problems that needs to be fixed or replaced at that many miles?

Any advice would help and I'll post some pics when I get it. Thanks in advance.

Dan

My best suggestion is to read the Buyer's Guides in the 3rd gen FAQ thread. Link here:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

Read that and come back with any specific questions you may have.

Welcome Dan. Congrats on the car. I second the suggestion to start by reading through ALL the stickys. A few hours and you'll know ALOT more about this car then you do now. Still, some things that come to mind off-hand and details to search for.....
* It's probably due for all fluid changes....coolant, brake fluid, oil, transmission and differential.
* Turbo coolant lines. They tend to swell with age and heat.
* Belts, just like any other car.
* Plugs. Rotary engines tend to be a little harder on plugs.
* Vacuum hoses. Hopefully the previous owner(s) changed the OEM hoses out for slicone. If not they'll need to be changed.
* Look or search for "realiability mods".

Advice:
*Get a decent aftermarket temp and boost gauges installed if you don't have them already. The stock temp gauge is worthless and you need to monitor your boost patterns.
*I don't know what your plans are for the car, but if it's close to stock I'd leave it that way for now. Do the maintenance and learn about the car for a year or so before adding significant performance modifications.
Good luck, have fun and keep us posted.

A little bit of a language problem Aladdin, but if I understand you correctly, you're car isn't getting fuel. If that is the situation, I don't think it's an ECU problem.
Start by checking fuses. If they're OK, I would check continuity....see if you have power at the fuel pump with the ignition 'on'.
