Opinions on rear wing
Hello All, I am new to the RX7 world, so please be patient. I am in the process of a complete paint job on my 95 base. It has no rear wiper or wing. Resale value is important to me, as I actually have 2 very similar cars, and I am going to keep the one I like best, after this one is completed.
I was considering adding a rear wing. I like the factory style ones that I have seen. I really want to add this prior to painting, as the paint will protect the holes drilled to mount the wing. My question is would a rear wing be considered a negative on a car that was not born with it?
Also, what style of rear wing do most people like. This car is black if that plays into this at all.
Thank you for your input.
Rich

I'd be looking at the Build threads and pics of other Member's cars.
Really what is good looking to one person may look like crap to another.
It boils down to personal preference really. If someone doesn't like it.Tough..they don't own it.They didn't pay for it.Who died and made them king of the wing?.(chuckle!.)
Now as far as resale? That is another thing. You would have to research that and compare closely the prices of cars with wings and cars without wings, then make your decision that way.
The market is a funny thing,so again, you can get more from someone who has a preference of NO wing versus a car that has an Extra 1k Wing on it but you get less in resale for..due to market price.
..That's my Jabber,,stickin to it,hope it helps.

Thank you. That is kind of my feeling. I do really like the wing, but if it was a value killer, I may shy away. In the end, if I like it, I guess I win!
Wing it is
Thank you
Wing it is
Thank you
Rich,
I agree with misterstyx69...all personal preference. My first FD had a stock R1 rear wing. I opted to have it removed when I had the car repainted. I prefer the wingless look; however, do what you like, as it is your car
