87 FC Brake Warning Light Problem
So, my 87 FC's brake warning light is always on, its fairly annoying. The brakes seem to be working just fine, and I have not noticed any leaks on the garage floor over the past few days.
First, I checked the fluid level, and it was ok. The master cylinder and brake booster were dry and no evidence of leaks were found.
Next, I took out the warning light cluster, and cleaned all the contacts (with ispropyl alcohol) on the car side and the cluster side (actually fixed my clock in doing so). The light remained on.
I then looked at the switch attached to the parking brake handle and I found that it was not getting any power. So my question now is if there is a typical point where I should look for bad connections, broken wires or solder and such. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?
