Oil pressure sending unit?
Hey guys a couple of my aftermarket gauges aren't working....
Oil temp and Oil pressure aren't working, and the regular oil pressure gauge in the gauge cluster itself (factory) stopped working shortly before the other one did.
I saw that the wire somehow came loose from the gauges to the oil pressure sending unit, however when i connected it again I notice that it's a little fidgety like it has bad contact, and awkwardly enough as if the positive and neg are swapped, when i accelerate it goes DOWN instead of RISING the pressure!!?! what's up with that? I'm thinking i connected it to the wrong place... i just put it in a small cylindrical object that faces to the driver side of the car that seemed to have a piece broken off at the tip where the wire WAS connected. theres no polarity on those things right? or did i connect it to the wrong place? maybe switched wires by mistake when i reconnected the gauge? cuz i had to extend the wires to the gauges and i really doubt i made a mistake but who knows...
and the other thing is the oil temp gauge works cuz when i click the key to 'on' it goes up and then down as if registering that it works, however following the wire down i see nothing seems out of place... could it be the sensor itself broke? gauges are glowshift and the car is a 93' FD.
Also i noticed a black wire that i think might be the car's factory oil pressure reading wire that was loose and might be the reason it doesnt work but when i connected it to (what i thought was but now am pretty sure is not) the factory oil pressure sending unit, no results, no pressure at all on the stock gauge in the cluster...
can anyone get me a pic or tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is?
