Oil Leak

Hey all,

My stock '93 FD has a small external oil leak that I THINK I have traced back to its source. I first noticed oil all over the crossmember, but only a few drops leaking onto the ground after each time I drive the car. I first checked some of the usual suspect places that I had read about on here (base of oil filter mount, oil pressure sending unit)

I poked around a little more, and noticed that the short oil cooler line was covered in oil where it screws into the block with a banjo bolt. But, I decided to look up more because I read that I could also be looking at a front cover leak. The leak seems to be coming from what looks like a sensor that is above where the short oil cooler line screws into the engine. It is right behind and slightly toward the right (driver's side) of the pully(s) where the alternator belt is connected. What am I looking at here? Is this the low oil level switch? I couldn't seem to find this in any of the pictures in my shop manual.

Are there any other places (higher up) that could leak and cover this with oil?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

I'm not that familiar with 93s but it sounds like your car is leaking from the front cover. You might need new seals.

you can also check where the rotor housings meet with the intermediate housings.
