Odd peice to go wrong
So when i bought my FC last saturday, the guy said it had a coolant problem. Okay, no big deal, i'll just check out the system and be on my happy way. Well i got the car into my shop class, ran a collant system pressure test, and found a leak from the hose goin from the driver side of the engine to the firewall. The hose is still pretty new so i thought well i'll just tighten up the hose and everything will be okay. So i tighten it, add a little bit of coolant to just replace what ended up on the floor and re-did the pressure test.
I ot the same result, so i pinpointed the leak to the firewall itself, and then took the hose off. The peice of piping that leads into the firewall istelf has a bad seal. Now, this is my first car, let alone it be an FC, and i honestly don't know what the part is or where it connects to other than it goes in some way shape or form to my heating/ac system. So as i said, it leaks. What should i do?
I've considered sealing the outer rim of it with some form of sealant but then again i'm no expert and i want to make this car last for a good long while.

That is your heater core. The nipple often gets crushed due to overzealous clamping.
You can probably carefully reshape it by using a socket on the inside of the pipe, gradually working it round again. If you destroy it, the dash must be removed to replace the heater core.
Any type of sealant would only be a temporary fix.
