odd instrument panel
Is this an other-than-US model or something? I thought somebody haphazardly placed gauges, but the trip reset button has a hole on the right! Doesn't seem Canadian with the usual 140 top end speed.

Looks to me like a 1979 cluster that someone painted blue.
EDIT: No... The 1979 had the tach as the volt meter when the engine was off... That's later. 1983 perhaps.
Some years topped out at 85 MPH. 1984 and 1985 are different as well.

Why I'm confused....
I have some adjustments to make. When I drove the 7 I had no problem reading each instrument, but subconsciously I am gently disturbed by the orientation of the instrument panel.
I come from Chevy people. On the left see '69 Camaro gauges (I had one of those). On the right '64 'Vette (Dad's race car).
I want to make the mental shift to where the Mazda configuration is what my mind expects. I NEED a vehicle!

thats an 83 gauge cluster. 1983 was the only year 7 to have a 120mph speedo with fire yellow numbers. the 79 which also had the 120mph speedo was white on black during teh day and green at night. 81-82 clusters had a speedometer that registered up to 85mph and had the fire yellow markings. 84-85 clusters had orange numbering and the speedometer registered 140mph.
