no gas to engine.
im working on my brother-in-law's 87 he just got(he's in ID and its here in MT) it will sputter to life on a SMALL wiff of ether. i cleaned the plugs and the front rotor seemed to be a bit oil fouled ( its been sitting for a year or 2 because clutch went out )
i was cranking on it earlier today and found a gas line that was leaking so i put a new hose clamp on it and it stopped for the most part. i still have to get a better chunk of line to completely fix it. but the engine is dry of gas. im completely stumped on where the fuel pump is. it doesn't sound to be running when the key is on so idk. but there was gas dripping out as if it was a pressure line so i have no idea whats going on.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. You can access it through a panel in the floor. Also, the pump will not run if the engine is not running, unless you jump the yellow test connector on the passenger-side shock tower, or prop the AFM door open.

AFM = Air Flow Meter. It is mounted on the air filter box, and measures the amount of air going into the engine. It has a metal door that moves with airflow, which changes resistance values the ECU sees. It also has a fuel cut switch that is turned off when the door moves ~1/8 inch.
bassically a mass airflow sensor? i looked today and i cranked it over and theres a crack on the line at the line where the gas goes to the injectors and there was gas there. it was the front line. im not sure which is the pressure and which is the return line.
It's similar to a MAF, but it works differently.
The line with the fuel filter attached (lower driver-side engine bay, near frame rail) will be the feed line. The one w/out a filter is the return line after the fuel pressure regulator.

well theres 2 lines that feed in on the drivers side, and right now i cant get underneath. but the forward most line is the one that i can see that has gas to it because it is cracked and is bleeding gas, i have to fix that sooner or later.
