Newbie rotary needs help! 90 fc will not start!

Hi everyone I just recently bought a 1990 rx7 non-turbo! I am new to rotary and I join the forum to seek answers and help. I will state what I have done from beginning til now. The car has died out on my friend while on the high way. It sat aside for about 7 months to a year, he now passed it to me. I started the car and turns out the battery was dead and and very loose battery terminals, I got a new battery and new terminals. 2nd time when i start it, the car would just slowly turn over and at the same time have this annoying rapid clicking noise on the lower right passenger side, but the odd thing is that if you push start it, IT WILL RUN. The car cannot start on its own, jumping the car will crank it, black smoke and also loud popping noise from the exhaust would come out also, what should I do? I have power for my lights, radio, windows etc... and I also tried the unflooded process. Still no crank! PLease help the noob

Check the condition of the ground wires and the battery post wires.. it would be a good idea too to change the fuel filter and inspect the fuel pump and tank maybe theres muck down there.

Might as well do a 60k tune up. change everything little on the car. I mean everything! injectors, sparkplus, hoses, all off the power plug chips, new battery, new alternator, check all your grounds and make sure its all bare metal and check all your wires.

this might be a overkill you think but it will help you out in the long run.

videos of clicking....fuel cut switch is the best thing you can do to that car....mileage? the popping could be the plugs, or the timing being off, a tune up would be the best thing u can do

Your clicking of the starter is "only" related to the starting circuit and nothing else. It will be easy to rectify if you go through the steps I mentioned in your other thread. A video is of no real help if your explanation of the clicking problem is an accurate one. Okay?
