Hello all. I have just inherited a project 1993 RX7 Jap import to the UK. It current has 60,000 miles and mainly all stock rather than a rear exhaust and HKS intakes. Other than that all stock.

The problem is when you are at an idle in neutral and try to rev the car the RPM doesnt go anywhere and starts to die then spit bang puff black smoke and missfire.

If you then slowly take it off idle to where the air compressor kicks out then you can rev it no problem reves up fine and you can hear the turbos spooling and the engine sounds sweet just until you drop the RPM below the air compressor kicking in.

When the car is driving under load it drives fine with partial throttle until you put your foot down and then it dies missfire and wont rev black smoke back fires. Even if you slowly increase the revs till the compressor kicks out under load it will still miss fire.

I had a friend in 2001 that had the same issue with his RX7 when I lived in the states but I have no clue how to get ahold of him.

All vacum hoses have been replaced from what I can see and might have to verify. I have not had alot of experience with the rotory but the project was given to me and I couldnt pass it up. I have alot of technical and engineering background in heavy machinery so I can understand most things. I hope some one can help.
