Your profile shows a GXL, which already has an LSD. It's viscous-type so it's probably not working the best at this point, but you could swap an S4 NA clutch-type in directly. The entire diff is interchangeable.

ez way to tell is to raise back end and rotate tire one way and the other tire will rotate opposite of the one your turning. and a possy will roll same way as your turning

Do a Burn out,,it will tell you if your Diff is a LSD.
Most common sockets used on an Rx7: 8,10,12,14,17,19,21mm.
The diff is a little tricky to get out with the Subframe in,But If you take One side and loosen it up all the way and drop it an inch(drivers side) you can get at the Front Diff mounts.
Just be careful with your brake lines. It would be best to unbolt the Brakes and put them Up and out of the way so the lines won''t get snapped or Damaged.
also pop the shocks off at the Bottom bolt(17mm).

Yeah, you're right. That's what I get for going from memory instead of checking the brochures sticky. Mazda got did all sorts of stupid things to the S5s.

Best bet is to find an S4 NA LSD, which was in GXL and GTU models. Beware of automatic GXLs which had a 3.9 LSD instead of the normal 4.1.

Cool thanks

Ya i found out how to open it im not sure where the lsd i got was from or how to tell if it is a 4.1 or what not. But i got two pumkins and so i put it in the other one figured that out. sounds alittle more tricky than 240s lol. I checked that one i put in pumkin it is a LSD just not sure of the condition or if i did not put it in good enough cause its alittle rough when i get to one spot when turning it is hard to turn does not seem good to me any ideas. Hopefully i just did something wrong cause getting another one will be hard with my time frame.

jack the car up and spin the driveshaft, if they both spin in the same direction its an lsd, if they spin in opposite directions its open

i beleive if the pinion or input is spun 4.1 times around, the driveshafts or outputs will turn once.
or vice versa, i cant remember.
