New purchase

Hello,

New to the forum. I am looking to purchase a 93FD with 111k on it . Car has been modified with a single turbo but will not go above 10psi. Owner is claiming not to have time for it which is understandable.
Is it recommended to purchase a modified car with boost issues or could this be a nightmare.

Car fax seems to be clear and rebuild has been done from Atkins,
From the owner
"The car doesn’t seem to boost past 10 and it appears it is not getting enough fuel as the microtech engine management system is not letting us adjust the tune. It is an older microtech system that uses an old laptop platform apparently."

I'd ask who tuned it in the first place and once you find out that info i'd call that shop and ask them to give it a quick glance and possibly diagnose the problem before purchasing. If the owner won't allow you to do that then I'd either walk away.

He said he purchased it modified. I was going to call Atkins to verify the rebuild. With the boost issue I am not sure if I am getting into a huge problem.
The car does run so I am not sure if this is worth the effort.

Someone selling a car that apparently they just recently bought because they "just don't have the time”? Yeah...pretty sure I’m understanding.

If you don't have the experience and a firm belief that YOU can figure it out, or don't have the money to take it to a rotary shop to have it sorted for you...don't buy the car.

Reasons I'm selling my car...and the REAL reason I’m selling the car. Pick one:

*I don’t have to sell this car...I have to sell this car.

*I don’t want to sell this car...It hasn’t run in years but my wife’s making me.

*I've got too many projects...the biggest one being that 15 yr old Honda that I drive everyday.

*I’ve got too many projects....and I can’t figure out what’s wrong with this one.

I’ve got too many projects....I’m running low on money and need to sell something. This one’s the most hopeless.

I just don’t have the time... I’m out of money.

*I'm moving soon...parents are kicking me out.

*I got a new job and don't have the time anymore...I got a job.

*I need more room...I'm living with my parents, it hasn't moved in 6 months and they want it out of
the driveway.

*I just don't have the room...The car’s been hacked on worse than Lizzie Borden’s family. I just bought it to flip.

*I want to spend more time with my kids...I only get them every other weekend. They like to go to the park and get bored handing me tools. They're complaining to the 'ex.

*I'm getting married soon...as soon as I buy a tub of 'Lava", clean my fingernails and find a date with no prison tats.

Well, it is hard to tell. Thats the reason Sgtblue is saying all that.
Could be from $300 to thousands.
If you have some $$$ in the bank to waste on trying to fix what it could be wrong, do it. If not, just don't Do It..! Even worse if you are new to the fd.
Wait and keep looking that you might be lucky and find a good running fd.
Make this as a good experience not a nightmare.
Good luck...
