IA New owner to 1st gen. Headlight problems.

I want to say, first off, to the admin that approves these messages, that it was my mistake for posting an introduction with a problem im having with my car. I didnt read the post "READ BEFORE POSTING" untill after I posted the introduction. So if you delete my introduction, than i understand.

Im new to the rx-7 theme. I bought my 1st, 1st gen rx about 3 months ago after watching my brother mess with his 2nd gens for almost 7 years. I thought he was nuts owning them because of how temper mental these cars can be and seeing him blow up at problems he was having. After 7 years, i figured id take the challenge . I'm wanting to get this car going good enough to drive, because my g-body is a little excessive on gas. Ive known this car for a while now. Im the 4th owner and i bought it off of a friend of mine. A month before buying it, I noticed that the tail lights would flicker. Sometimes they would go off and stay off or run like normal. I took a look at it and noticed the wiring coming off of the switch had been a little hot at times, so I replaced the wires that were burnt. Everything went good for about a week and then they went out completely. the only lights that would come on were the Headlights. I replaced the fuse, that did nothing so i tore it back apart. Well in tearing it apart, the tail lights come back on with no problems. I noticed that the main power wire for the lights further down into the harness was shorting out on the frame for the dash. So i replaced what i fixed already, along with the section that i found new, all the way to the fuse box. No problems. Well now, since ive done that, the headlights are now the issue. Ive ran wires in the interior and found a few bad spots and replaced them, but nothing changed. I checked under the hood and found a ground (im assuming) on the passenger side that has been burnt up. Its on a plug thats close to the pop up motor. My chilton and Haynes manuals show nothing of this plug in the wiring diagrams and i have no clue were else to look. Are there relays for the headlights that could of shorted out, or are there relays at all? Could the switch be bad? Beacause i dont hear any relays clicking and dont remember hearing any when they were working. I can post pics if need be, but until than could there be any advise or help i could get with this issue?
