New Member Intro (Florida, FC Rx7)
Hey y'all, nice to join and meet everyone.
I'm not sure how active this forum still is, but on the quest for information I was told to come to this forum so here I am.
My name's Christian, I live in Tampa, FL (moving to Orlando), I currently have a 2015 VW Passat that is attached below, and I plan on buying an FC in August. Not only will this be my first FC, it'll be my first rotary. I'm very excited and am more than happy to take any first time rotary owner tips for maintenance and stuff (or if anyone could point me to some good sources). I plan on having it as a simple street car that might occasionally go to the track for a drift day.
I'm very excited to learn everything I can about these cars and rotary engines, and I already have good contacts at Mazdatrix through Kyle and Joe Mohan. To start, is there anything anybody notices with this specific car? Anything I might need to take a closer look at? This is the listing I'm interested in as of right now.

Thank you for everyone's help in advance!

Never heard of a mild rebuild before. Also don't know about attributing the high idle to the street port and stock ecu. That doesn't really make any sense. Mild rebuild and street port in this context seem to be conflicting statements and should be further investigated by looking at whatever receipts they're mentioning.
There isn't much information in that ad and the pictures show some stuff but overall it's pretty vague considering how expensive the car is.
Once you move out to Orlando, kilo will be your go to for anything you need. You need to do a lot of reading before you start asking questions. The forum is plenty active and there is more information here than can be cataloged.
Since you have some time before you actually aquire the car, you still have time to reconsider your decision. We've seen it too many times where people just rush into buying a rotary car because of the hype train, because they think it will be cool, a strive to be "different", they always wanted one ever since [insert whatever], and it all ends the same.... disaster.
Most don't know or want to acknowledge the very real financial burden an rx7 of any generation can be should something go wrong. It's even worse when you grossly overestimate your mechanical ability or underestimate the uniqueness of what's going on in that engine bay. It can all turn into a real gross can of **** for anyone that has done little to no research BEFORE diving in.
The ultimate loss is the entire community is down 1 more rx7 because someone was chasing likes on Instagram. We always present the scenario if you needed to spend 6k tomorrow to have your car fixed, could you do it? If that idea is earth shattering for your situation, we advise picking a different car or waiting until you can properly afford it.
