New here newbie ?
Hi everyone,
I just purchased a 1988 NA rx7. The car is beat, but I am going t use the engine and driveline as a donor for a lotus seven that I am building. The motor of course has been monkeyed with by a rookie and this kinda screwing things up.
I am relatively new to wankels , but I am a pretty good mechanic. The car when started will rev up to the 3500 to 4000 range and then dies quickly after that. I have looked over the engine. It currently has a header, with no exhaust piping. The air pump is gone, air control box( part that hooks up by the header), injectors are red( not sure if those are correct), has a cheesy cold air intake.
Basically I am wondering a few things. What should I look for as far as no idle. Obviously I plan to check for intake leaks, so other than that. When I put this into the other car smog will not be an issue. What can be removed from the motor emmisions and vacuum wise to make the motor as simple as possible?
Please let me know if I left any info out.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Brendan
