Cool new fuel pump no fuel.

i have a 1985 12A with a weber dcoe 45 side draft.the old pump i could here running but now fuel was exiting the pump. pull off the line put a pan under it and turned the key on.pump started doing its thing but no fuel was coming out of the pump so i picked up a new one put it on and the same thing. i have checked all the line and replaced them hopeing that it might have been a bad line. no good.all of the stock emission stuff is gone. so its just fuel, spark and air.the car sat for a long time before i bought it could the pick up in the tank be rotten out? even if i get it to the gas station fill it up to the top after about 5 minutes of running the above starts all over again. any ideas..... thanks

Can you tell for sure if the pump is actually running? If not, then you might have a bad relay (under steering column, very common issue).

have you replaced the sock filter for the pump? or perhaps a vent tube could be pluged and not allowing air into the tank.
