New fd owner with high and increasing idle

Hi all,

I have had a good trawl of the forums and have a whole host of places to start looking for a solution to my problem, but I was just wondering if someone could halp me to narrow down the best place to start, given a few more details. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Bought a 96 jdm FD two weeks ago; it is pretty standard save for a decat exhaust and a BOV. (I have purchased an oem cat section to replace the decat, but that is still waiting to go on).

It was all going well, but in the last few days my idle has become high, even when warm. It sits around 1400rpm with the clutch in and no electrical load.

If I am driving, the car will happily pull itself along without the need for me to press the accelerator. Depending on speed it will be at about 1000rpm if going slow (10-15mph) or at 1500rpm in normal driving (30mph).

I have read a lot about vacuum leaks, TPS,etc; but given the "Herbie" style drive itself aspect, is there a particular place it would be wise to start?

Thanks

Jon
