Hi everyone, I've just recently bought a 1989 FC TII Convertible. I absolutely love the car and can't wait to work on it. Quick question- What is the best clutch setup including the flywheel for this car? It has a stock engine and I don't plan on doing any performance upgrades at the moment and it's not going to be doing much mileage. Thanks.

welcome to the board.

any stock replacement clutch should do for what you've described (no plans to mod). as far as brands go, i guess i would look to Exedy, if you have that available, but again any decent replacement should be enough. for flywheel, lightweight steel would should be okay if you want a little more response, but if that does not appeal to you, then just clean up the stock one, inspect it and keep it if there's nothing wrong with it. i think RB has one, but i don't know what shipping/customs hassles you may or may not face.

Recommend lightweight steel flywheel and an exedy or act oem or stage 1 clutch, stainless steel hydraulic hose.

I’ve ran the racing beat lightweight steel flywheel and it made a significant difference in higher rpm response and acceleration. Was easily streetable as it was my daily driver.

I have driven a buddies Acura rsx with a lightweight aluminum flywheel and I found that to be past the point of streetable.

Hey thanks alot, I've ordered a new flywheel counterweight master and salve cylinder, pilot bearing and pilot bearing seal from The States I just need a clutch kit and flywheel now. I will probably go for Exedy and a lightweight steel flywheel.
