neutral safety switch
neutral safety switch
Hi every one I am new to the board. Just got a 83 rx body is solid engine is strong and the auto transmission shifts smooth and easy. I have a few questions the car seems to use antifreeze no leaks but I have added it twice after confirming that it is full. Any ideas what is going on. My second question is the neutral safety switch is bad starts in any gear or not at all. Any ideas of how I can by pass it while I work on it. Just need to be able to take it in and out of the garage while we prep it for paint and work on the interior. I have made a few attempts at bypassing it but can not find the right place to do it.
Thanks

I don't know anything about the automatic transmission, but you can find circuit diagrams in the FSM (see the FAQ for your generation).
As for the coolant issue, is the system pushing coolant into the overflow container and then not sucking it back in?
Search "bubble test" to make sure your car is not burning it.
Failing all those, a pressure test with a dye kit will always locate the leak.
