need some help with fc aux port sleeves and solenoids
Hi everyone I have an s5 vert and my aux ports aren't activating. From what I've read with the s5 you can rev it at a stand still and still have the actuators work. I checked my vdi actuator that way and it works great. I checked the brown solenoid for the aux ports and it seems that a hose my have snapped off the plastic nipple on the back of the solenoid. So I was wondering what solenoid I need to buy to replace it. Also how can I bypass the solenoid to confirm that it is the issue?
Second originally my 6th port actuator wouldn't open with compressed air and my 5th did. I removed both actuators today and the 5th port turned smooth as expected . However after removing the 6th port actuator I noticed the actuator was ok it was the sleeve that was stuck. I was able to break it free easily with my hand and worked it for a while till it was smooth. So my question here is if the actuators correctly open and move the pin is it guaranteed the sleeves are not stuck? In other words does the actuator connect directly to the aux sleeves in the intake?

If the actuators themselves were seized(whatever) and you freed them up and then checked the sleeves and they move freely,then everything should be ok.

the actuators are those do-hickeys you removed from the car.
the sleeves are what the actuators operate.inside the manifold/engine to allow the ports to be open.
look at a factory service manual and you will get a better idea.

Thank you. I found the solenoid on ebay, atkins has them for like 20 bucks. the latest issue now is the front aux actuator sticking open. the actuator is good its the sleeve that's sticking in the fully open position. i worked it with my hand for 15 mins and it's still not working. It barely even sticks. i'm gonna get a can of seafoam and try my luck later.
