Arrow Need some help with cold start on my fc

Ok so I never had a rx7 before and I just bought one and it doesn't go into the like strat up mode where it should rev to 2k rpm, it has a front mount intercooler on it and the guy said it was because of that... What can I do to keep the front mount and fix this problem? Any help is appreciated I tried searching but I don't even know what to look for lol

If it has a front mount, then it most likely has other modifications done that would lead me to believe that the Cold start assist and other gadgets are removed.
If that has been done then you are pretty well on your own to put the throttle body back to it's original state..

It's a 87. There's no way to fix this and keep the front mount?

welcome to the board.

I think the point misterstyx69 was making is that since you mentioned the front mount, then it's a good bet that that's not the only "modification" done the car - one of which is probably a stripped throttle body, which would delete the cold start stuff. I don't think he was saying cold start and front mount are mutually exclusive.

The main thing to investigate is a throttle body accessory called the thermo wax. The thermo wax is usually striped off for simplification or discarded when faulty instead of replaced. Check out this, the pictures and description should help you see and learn what's going on:
