IL need some help with this 86' n/a rx-7

I posted on the rx-7 forum powered by vbulletin, but I guess that forums not too active so I hope i can get some help here.

Okay so I'm looking at this 86' rx-7 right and it has around 122,000 miles on it, and it has an oil leak. Now I talked to the guy and he told me that it wasn't a leak in the block it's a leak in either one of the seals or the pan oil gasket. The engine also idles rough and it dies at about 500-600 rpms. However you have to feather the throttle to make the car run. Now I just want to know if this would be an easy cheap fix because I was looking at getting this car. Also he told me that the car wasn't started in about three years so I'm guessing thats why it idles so rough. I'm also wondering about the clutch because it is a 5 speed and well im guessing since it's been three years the clutch is bad. I am going to check out the car tomorrow I just wanted to get your opinions i am new to rx-7's so thats why.

If you car is leaking between then engine and tranny, that's definitely the main eccentric rear seal. Idling rough, that engine has a leak on the vacuum. I suggest replace all the vaccum hoses then do a full tune up on the engine. You can find all of that thru the Factory Service Manual or do a search here or on google.

Wow thanks for the help man, but like I forgot to say that this car is a 5-speed and after sitting for three years how do you think the clutch might be? Also how much will it cost do you think to get all the stuff repaired?

If the car has been sitting for 3 years and you started it, major damage has been done.

Well it's not my car, but that is what the guy told me. Also this car has 122,000 miles around there at least on it, and he never changed the apex seals so I am guessing it would be a good idea to change those also. Please inform me of all the possible damage and the repair cost I want to see if this car is worth it.

Change the apex seal? are you sure? Well I'll give you a rough estimate in just replacing the seal. Just be ready to spend close to a grand or more in doing this, cause I just finished rebuilding my engine.

no I'm not talking about the apex seals I know how expensive they are. I am just asking if you guys think the car is worth it. However a quote on the apex seals would be nice also because they are probably gonna go anytime soon with the miles he has.
