CA Need Some Assistance/Guidance on 1st Rx7

So I've recently purchased my car about a year ago. I have a 1991 Mazda Rx7 non-turbo clean title with 77k miles (anything else that I would need to provide, please let me know). Everything is original and nothing has been repaired nor has it had any major repairs.

Until recently the check engine light flickers as I am driving, but once I am on the freeway doing above 40mph the check engine light stay off until I start slowing down on occasion is just stays off while I am driving.

The other issue I have is when I start the car up for the first time after a few hours of it being parked it starts up just fine and then it idles very very low almost to the point of cutting off (it never has though) until I give it a bit of gas it begins to idle just fine.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Sorry for the long explanation.

Try Pulling Codes from the ECU.

Alright will do for the check engine light, but think that will also possibly assist with the reason why it occasion may idle low when starting up? Or give me a possibe answer to the low idle.

When was the air filter last changed? Pulling ECU codes is a good idea, build a lamp checker, I think the 86-88 lamp is the same for your car: The MAZDA RX-7 86-88 technical page

I have a Kn&n air filter so I clean it every 3k miles whenever I do the oil change. So I cleaned it about a month ago. I will be checking the the check engine light tomorrow and try to build a lamp checker later today.

Pull codes and do a compression test. Then save for a rebuild, lol. That was the most meaningful thing a buddy of mine told me when I first got my FC. Put money aside for a rebuild.. Just in case.

Rebuild, really? The car only 77k miles on it. As of now I just have the car garaged and I am driving my other car at the moment as I find time to do the compression test and run the check engine light test.
