Need options for NA FC

What can I do with my 87 FC? How far can i go with it? What are my limits in keeping it NA? What would be a good plan of attack? Any help would be appreciated.

My overall it drifting. For power I was thinking 300- 350HP.

your HP goals are not achievable with an N/A engine. In order to get any more than 200Hp(which seems to be Like a brick wall for Hp out of an N/A),you would be more Apt to get that amount of HP out of a TIi based engine.or the "other type" of Engine.
Now,I noticed you are New so,Welcome to the club. You have alot of Reading ahead of you.Try the Second Gen Archives section, and the Specific Section.Anything that you as a Newbie can ask,has most likely been covered Before. The Veteran Owners are Pretty good at Archiving modifications, and any Snafus that they have encountered.so,it is really well documented in one form or another.
Three years of Owning an FC,I still have questions.I wish I knew it all,But I don't.The Forum is a Pool of knowledge,So Dive in and have fun..Cheers STYX!~

Of course, drifting, I should have guessed.

Please, if this is a 2nd gen in good shape, pick another car to smack into the wall.

That said, as the above post mentions, 300-350HP is not realistic on an NA 13B in a form most would consider streetable. With a big bridge port it's doable, and a peripheral port will get you there easily. Both ports require a lot of supporting modifications, not the least of which are full custom intake manifolds and a standalone EFI system.

There will be a lot of people here that will tell you the car will drift fine on stock power levels. I don't know anything about drifting because I'm nearly 30 years old.

Aaron. Actually it's a piece. I payed $700 for it and it's got some body damage. It has 176k on it so I figured it would a project. I know what you mean, I wouldn't waste a perfectly good car just to get beat up.

What about turobcharging it with low boost and a street port? I saw that video of yours when you dynoed it for 386HP. Your car is sick.

The easiest thing for you to do would be buy a turbo engine from an S4 TII. Aaron has a had a lot of experience with rotary engines and thats why turbo'ing his engine was so easy for him. I picked up a fully loaded running TII motor for $200, and you can usually find one running for around 500 so i'd look around and see if you can find one yourself, it would be alot easier then turbo'ing your NA.

So, is 200hp a practical limit for "streetable" NA power...with 300+ being attainable for a race engine? I ask because I've been considering doing a 13b swap (or maybe even 12a, if the wallet is feeling thin) into my 77 Celica...the 20r is getting a little tired

For all the work required to turbocharge the NA engine, it's generally easier to swap in the turbo 13B as it is a direct bolt in (and well documented in the FAQ).

Turbocharging the NA engine has it's place but I don't think it's here.

200HP is about the practical limit on the street under conditions most people would think are streetable. A good street port ("good" does not mean big), nice divided exhaust, standalone and a good tune will get you there.

Mid 300s can be done on a bridgeport. You'll need a custom intake, short runner header, free exhaust (LOUD!), standalone, etc. But keep in mind you'll end up with a vehicle that is ear splitting loud, idles at 1400 RPM and gets 8 MPG city.

You want 400HP NA? Then a peripheral port will do the job. Same mods required as a bridgeport but you'll have to have a set of runners added to the rotor housings and block off the side ports. It will be loud.
