Need more air

I am about to replace my air filter in my 87 na fc. What should I upgrade to? My 13b was rebuilt about 20k ago, so I have a pretty solid platform to work with. I saw this "Splitz" customizable cold air intake for less that $50. It comes with a cone style filter, and tubing that can be bent and extended up to 36". I think that would work well, no?

To be honest, get a K&N drop in and call it a day.

Or wait a few months because I hear that a well known member here, who doesn't yet have vendor status (but will soon) will be releasing the most kick *** cold air intake kit for the S4 FC that has ever been designed....But that's just something I've heard...

flex intakes are worse than stock piping... they create to much turbulance in the intake which restricts how much power youll recieve... a k&n drop in filter is honestly a lot better than doing the flex intake... but if you can find an after market short ram or even cold air intake pipe from another car that fits than your looking good for power and throtle response

The stock airbox is a massive restriction and poorly designed. While a drop in filter will help, the real gains are going from that to a cone filter in a proper cold air box.

"Short ram" is just ricer magazine talk for "short tiny intake tube that sucks in hot air and probably costs you power".
