Need fuel pump Help
ok so my Turbo II is starting to bog so everyone tells me buy a new fuel pump. Today i bought a walbro 255 fuel pump but only one problem. i don't know how to put it in
and i rather not pay a guy to do it for 160. would this be to hard to do myself? i should have all the tools to do it at home. and i'm not exactly sure how to do it. if anyone could help i would much appreciate it

with common hand tools you should be able to do it yourself.
In the trunk area under the carpet, you will see an aluminum access panel. That gets you too the top of the gas tank. Once you have that off, remove the top plate on the gas tank. The pump will be attached to the gas tank gauge sensor, low fuel sensor all attached to the top plate of the gas tank.
remove old pump and filter, replace with new parts. You may also need a large metal hose clamp to hold the pump to the bracket from the top plate... just depends on what series pump you got and if it is a real walbro or not.

Jumping to the conclusion of a bad fuel pump because the car bogs isn't a good place to start. Unless those people know what they are talking about, there are far more common causes for bogging then a bad pump. For example, the 3800 RPM hesitation, clogged filter, bad plugs, etc.
As for the Walbro, if you install it you will increase fuel pressure and the car will run rich.

Is it better to run the stock fuel pump then, im replacing a walboro(sp?) with a stock one on my turbo.
does this mean Ill be running lean? do i need to be afraid im going to blow my engine?
as for fuel pump replacement... i find that its easy if you follow the directions. dont forget to unhook the neg battery cable for safety and you MUST depressurize the fuel lines. i got a taste of gasoline because i didnt.

i have the same question. what wire do i cut for the positive and negative?
on the Walbro harness its black for negative & red for positive, but on the stock fuel pump mount they're 2 wires that where connected to the original fuel pump one is skinnier then the other. which one is positive and the negative . Also do i have to modify the pick up hose that connects to the fuel pump? mine is also a 255 series. please need help just as much as this guy!!!
