need desperate help
hi everyone,
Here's the problem, I have an NA 5 speed 87 rx7 that's been sitting for some time now and I've been away for the past several months. Now I'm back and I wanna get the car running again but I'm clueless on where to start and what needs to be fixed. Can you guys give me some help out. Any help and advice would be gratefully appreciated. The battery is not the problem bc I've already changed it. The car is completely stock.
Thanks for reading and sharing your ideas,
-jimmy

Sorry for the late response.
So far I've tired to charge the battery but the car didn't get a crank. the first time I try to start the car I heard clicks from the engine but no start. Try turning tghe ignition again, no clciks this time. Do you guys think battery is dead?
Also, I've tried removing the sparks plugs to clean em but didn't have the right size wrench would you guys knowwhat size it mights be?
Should I consider changing the starter?

ive had a problem were it wont start after sitting for 5 minutes and i simply wiggle the power cable on the battery and try starting and bam. but in your case i check to make shure the battery has enough charge and if it just clicks make sure its getting fuel. if you have new battery and still no good starter may need to be wedged or replaced.

thanks everyone,
i finally got my car to start, turns out it was only the charge.
however ive encountered another problem now, once the car starts and i rev it up a little the engine shuts off. anything i should be worried about?

hi
bad news, my car doesnt start again. it was running for a while earlier and after warming it up, i shut it off. now the car wont start again when i was planning to take it for a drive. i replaced the battery in there. i noticed that one of the spark plug coil was off and i plugged that back in and still doesnt start. could the alternator be broken? any suggestions to what might be broken?

Definitely specify whether or not the starter is able to spin when you turn the key. "Won't start" can mean a lot of things. If the starter is not doing anything when you turn the key, test battery voltage. If it's lower than about 12.5V, it's not fully charged. If that's the case, check the positive connection on the alternator post, the main ground on the transmission bell housing & the positive lead on the starter itself. Charge the battery and start the car. Put a multimeter on the negative battery post and the alternator post and read the voltage output. Ideally this will be around 14V. If not, the alternator may be toast.
