Nasty Coolant Leak

I just got my 84 RX7 GS and I have a bad coolant leak. It's dripping out from between the block and the transmission housing. Is there a freeze plug back there or do I have a cracked end housing or a blown coolant seal? I'm seriously afraid for the life of my car!

There are several freeze plugs on the rear iron behind the flywheel.

But, check the heater hoses in that area first because it may be as simple as a worn out driver side heater hose.

Thanks for the help, I feel more confident that it's not a cracked block. I will check my heater hoses today, but I can't drop the tranny yet to check the freeze plugs.

I found a heater hose that was bandaged by the previous owner. I didn't do a pressure check but I'm going to replace it anyways. Even if it's not the problem now, it probably would be in the future. After I replace it tomorrow, I will pressure test and post the results.

It was just a heater hose. I replaced it and pressure tested it at 15psi no leaks! I got all worried for no reason.

Thats always good news. It's terrible when you think it's something simple but it ends up being a bad apex seal or a major repair job.
