So I just got an 88 rx7 and I wanma make it turbo but I heard that the engine would only last a week. Should I just swap in a turbo 2 engine or turbo the one I have. Also if I do swap in a turbo2 engine does it have to be one from 86-88 or can I swap in an s5 without problems. Any and every comment is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can turbocharge your current engine, but it would be easier and less expensive to just sell your car and buy a Turbo II car.
Engine swaps are easiest when you stick with the same series. You could use an engine from a different series RX-7, but it would take a lot more effort with little to no gain.
Most of the "performance" auto shops in Orlando are a joke, and I would actually be surprised if any of their engines lasted for an entire week.

For instance, in my case I chose to buy a TII swap and a FC with a blown rear rotor, this way I can build it to my desires, slowly.

To the OP, if you can afford to have a custom built turbo manifold go for it. I am rebuilding my TII swap and will be using the higher compression rotors in my TII block, fun and quick spool

Prices vary.the average about 1500 and up.BUT you get an "unknown".As mentioned a rebuild is advised if getting a JDM engine. That is IF it is in fact rebuildable.
You could post up a WTB ad in the appropriate section on forum though. It is encouraged so that you get to know the forum and the section areas that can help you.
But..Tip: no trying to buy in this section! Not a good thing, and against forum policy.
I gotta keep this Section purely Technical and not a " one stop headhunting spree" for guys wanting to unload stuff to New guys that may not know their "stuff" yet.
Understandable..right??
Thanks man..Good luck to ya.
Start calling around to local junkyards. They usually have a network system that will find you something in the long block category. Also keep an eye on the picknpull inventories in driving range.
