My tach is acting crazy

After installing new distributor, cap, rotor, wires, getting the dwell and timing and wires right, my 79 runs much better than it did if I increase throttle gradually. If I stomp the pedal, the tach goes to zero, then fluctuates wildly while the engine bucks and stutters. Since I learned from a thread that the tac is hooked to the trailing coil, I assume I screwed something up, and my problem is something electrical in that area. Any ideas?

We can scratch this thread, or end it here. Found wiring diagrams on fox.ca , cleaned term inals on short relay and coil resistors. Runs well now. Tack is normal
