From your post it's hard to tell what your asking. It reads like a JEOPARDY question.

Fuel dilution of oil over time on a rotary is common. A characteristic of the engine to some extent, but agravated by heavy/bad porting, forced induction (which apparently you have), leaking/dirty injectors, old plugs, poor timing etc. A reason why regular oil changes at somewhat closer intervals than a piston engine are recommended.

I thought the charcoal canister vented into the crankcase and that was the cause of this?

rotary engines contaminate the oil pretty fast, if it smells like straight gas then you might want to change it.

If your injectors are leaking or fouled they can put gas into the housing so bad that it will bypass the oil control rings and end up in the oil.
So,If the car has flooded itself, then the gas has now here to go,Hence the oil smelling like gas.
Gas With the oil is a bad thing as it will wash the oil off of parts that need to be lubricated..So Change the oil and BE Safe!
