Is my motor ruined?

Ok I've had my seven for about four months now. No Mods other than some basic suspension for autocrossing. I was running an autox yesterday when all of a sudden she started spraying oil down like it was cool. Figured out that the a corner of the radiator support had cut a hole into the braided line going into the cooler. I immediatley shut her down and we had it trailered to a nearby auto shop. They said they would just bypass the oil cooler so that I could make the drive home on the temp fix. In my stupidity I ASSUMED that meant cutting both the lines going into the cooler and clamping a hose between them. I should have actually inspected the work beforehand and I realize this is my own fault. Apparently their idea of a "bypass" was to cut both lines and plug them each by jamming a bolt in the hose and clamping it down. I made it about a quarter mile before she abruptly shut off and died. I had to call a wrecker to come pick me up since the shop had closed. Is my motor totally ruined now or is there any hope of saving her? I'm really praying for the latter since money is tight right now.

Sounds like you spun a bearing due to oil starvation caused by the hack job repair these guys did. It was the equivalent to running the car without any oil.

yes, either one would fix the problem. Honestly, replacing may be a faster/cheaper way.
