my first swap
So I bought an 87 fc N/A shell and was doing a jdm s4 t2 swap. wall **** didn’t go good so gave up on the project for a bit. I came across an s4 t2 shell for pretty cheap so I got it. so i restarted the swap and still **** wasn’t going right. now lone be hold they sent me the wrong engine it was an s5 and had the engine to long to send it back. I did some research and found all the **** I need to do the swap. well im pritty much done with the swap except for some wiring and hoses.
this is the first time every working on rx7s and this type of engine .
So can u guys tell me something’s to double check or most common mistakes on the swap?

So, the S5 TII engine is going into what? The S4 TII shell, or the S4 NA shell?
In any case, the simplest option is to use the S5 keg with all S4 electronics, manifolds, TB, front cover & OMP. It sounds like you probably just dropped the whole thing in, so you get to deal with all the re-wiring fun. Download a copy of the S4 & S5 wiring diagrams and start looking over the ECU pin outs, and the wire order at the engine management to front harness connector. You will also need to address the cluster differences, so again check both wiring diagrams.
Here's a link for info on the easier version of the swap, if you go that route instead: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...o_s5_swap.html

My humble advice:
Take the engine back out and get all the parts you would need to retrofit the S5 to the S4 wiring harness (fuel injectors, front cover, etc.) then reinstall, wire it up and go.

ok maybe i didnt clearify enough i did a ton of research and and re puilled the motor switrched all the engine componets from the s4 to s5, so now the ecu thinks that my s5 is a s4. that wasnt my question though. what i wanted know if there Are any wires that get mistaken for others, and anything else i should give a good looking over to, before i turn it over for the first time. thanks joe
