Is my center iron shot?

Is my center housing shot? I just disassembled my engine and discovered that the inner water seal area… .uhhhmmm… the tiny thin metal seperating the seal from the rotor chamber has broken off in two spots about half an inch in both spots, maybe a little smaller… do i need a new iron?

Post up pics of you can.
And do not post any Hints of wanting/needing anything.
It's TECH not the Classifieds.
If you want parts then that is the section you can get help in .

welcome.

I've heard of people repairing that sort of damage, but I can't recall any reports on the longevity of said repair. I also don't know how much that sort of thing costs if you're not able to repair it yourself. you're free to look into it since you're ultimately the one that knows what's best for you.

my opinion would be to check the classifieds for a housing.

If its questionable I'd replace it.

Engine rebuilds aren't cheap so there's no reason to cut corners unless you have no other choice.
