Multiple issues 89' RX7 N/A

Just got this car 3 weeks ago. I knew it would need some work, just need or would like some affirmations to my thights or other ideas....here goes.

Problem #1.
Car has an odd sound almost like a subtle pop but sounds more like "palunk" in exhaust. sounds like it may be misfiring or just needs new plugs wires (hopefully)
or it may be a bad gasket in the exhaust. Not sure right now. Any ideas on this?

Problem #2.
car randomly will surge at idle, not all the time and is VERY random. When i turn on the a/c OR the heater, the car will not surge. Maybe a bad connection with O2 sensor(s) or throttle position sensor, or even like the one below, a bad ground or electrical connection. Any ideas on this?

Problem #3.
Car attempts to die/dies when i have the headlights on at idle. Possibly bad grounds, alternator, or battery. Any ideas?

Any ideas/suggestions would be helpful guys, i just want a bit of feedback to see if im in the right areas to look for the problems (or) if any one has had the same problems and figured it out. Thanks.

1) No way to know without hearing it. You should do a full tune up (new plugs, hoses, etc...) anyhow.

2) The BAC valve (controlled by the ECU) will adjust idle speed for mechanical and electrical loads. This may be masking an issue with the TPS.

3) Test alternator output with a multimeter. ~14+ vdc is ideal

For the sounds bro, do like rotaryrocket. check your plugs, head shields anything around or on exhaust to make sure its all solid down there. then have a buddy or you listen to the car. does it do is while driving>? or just when you rev?

and the lights, you have either bad grounds or resistance on your wiring. use an Ohmeter and check the resistance coming out of your wires. clean all wires up with whatever solution you like. i personally use baking soda. remember if the wire cant be saved cause if corrosion can go up in the wire sheathing.
