Motor swap

SO one of my friends swapped out the motor from an fc he bought into his current fc.
Everything was exactly the same and for some reason they can't find out why it won't start. They jumped it and it ends up blowing some fuse.
I just figured i'd ask but does anyone know some reasons why it wouldn't start?

Yep, if it blows fuses when you go to jump the car, either the battery or jumper cables are not on the correct posts.

If the battery is indeed backwards or the jumper cables hooked up backwards, if you are lucky, you will have only blown fuses... if you are unlucky, you will need to replace most of the electronics in the car.
