Might be a dumb question?

New to rotary motors and am wondering why no rx7 fd's have dual exhaust? Can it be done? The single exhaust look isnt for me and Im not digging the sound too much.

The fuel tank and spare wheel well makes it difficult to run a dual exhaust. My car has a dual exhaust setup, but it is custom and I cut the stock fuel tank out

welcome to the board.

it's probably because weight savings was a big part of the Rx-7's new design. a dual design with mufflers on either side would be extra weight and thoroughly pointless.

can it be done? sure. if you're willing to pay for it, you can have it done.

Not the best angle but you kinda get the idea. I think it looks nice, but as diabolical mentioned, it's not super mass efficient.
