Mid Pipe knowledge please! *serched but still not very clear*

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and the RX7 scene. Based int he UK.
I searched about having a mid-pipe fitted to my FD3S, there was a very detailed thread about the difference between the RX7-store Res mid pipe and another company.

My question and confusion is:

1. Am i right in thinking, if i do go for the Res mid-pipe, then i will 'Need' to have some sort of reducer i.e. a smaller gasket? to restrict the exhaust gas flow.

2. If answer to top is yes. Why would i want to restrict the flow? I read about the boost creep.. but does it creep so much from just a res mid-pipe?! and how much boost is over boost? 1.3bar? anyone know?

3. Surely sensible amount of boost gain is good? No?

4. Does anyone know what a standard FD3S should boost at?

My FD currently have HKS filters and a 5Zigen (rear box) i think as i dont know what the standard mip-pipe on a FD looks like. i assume i have a standard mid-pipe cause the box (cat) is MASSIVE!

Sorry for all the questions, but its been bugging me all night!

Kind regards,
Nigel
