welcome to the board.

far as i know, you can get aftermarket carpeting brand new, but for the panels, i think you're looking at OEM - whether new or used.

ok thank you do you know if I can look at different years of the fc and put newer door panels in I don’t know if the interior changed that much but it would be nice to know so I’m not just looking at 86

you're definitely not just looking at '86. i think all of those trim pieces interchange between S4 and S5 coupes, so i don't think you have any limitations except for the convertible - and even then, i'm not sure some parts wouldn't still fit.

Be aware that there are some differences between S4 and S5 when you mix and match. For example, the lower B-pillar plastic trims on the S5 stick out a bit more to cover the auto seat belt mechanisms. This results in the S5 storage bin frame being about 2" smaller in the same area, so it fits together correctly. Since I did a rear seat to storage bin with black S5 parts, including the B-pillar trims, to allow for a battery relocation, everything matched up the way it should. Black S4 stuff would have been ideal, but those are quite rare (10th Anniversary Edition and Japanese Infini II-IV)

how critical is it? I’m eventually going to turn my fc into a race car but for now I’d like to drive it on the street for a while
