CA maybe a short?

hows it going just got an engine. s4 to s5 swap.. installed it started just fine.. now a couple days later when i try to start it, it kind of sounds like a short and wont start and then when it starts all the lights on the cluster stay on. and on another note, when i rev the engine, my engine light turns off..
if anyone has any suggestions very much appreciate it. thanks for taking the time

As the S4 and S5 wiring is radically different, it will help us answer if you provide some details on your swap. Otherwise I'd just guess at a bad alternator.

Either bad/misplaced wiring or bad alternator. Hit it with a hammer while it is idling see if your cluster lights turn off.
