manual trans swap

hi guys. I'm in the market for FD but most of the one around my area seems to be auto. How hard is it to switch to manual or is it better find manual?

Depends how thorough you wana be. It will be costly and require some skill. Apart from the obvious parts (transmission, clutch, slave, etc) you must consider that the engine will have lower rev limit wile in gear unless you source a computer for manual trans to swap in, console trim parts, not sure but may need drive shaft and flywheel. If you havnt already purchased an auto then id say wait and find a manual. Lots of buyers go ahead and get an auto because they find a "good deal" thinking they just throw in a manual trans and thats fine if you find a "sweet deal" on the parts and have the know how to do it otherwise just have patience and continue to save for the manual trans rx that you will inevitably find

It's been so many years since i've covered this topic, do a little research on this site and I'm sure you will find what you are looking for it. I know it can be done, but it comes down to a cost vs. what you truly want. Typically if you have the patience you can find a manual and save yourself the headache, but I am just getting back into the market myself, so I'm not 100% sure what things are like at this time.

I found few great write up and will definitely help. I've been looking (not that long to be honest) but everyone with manual tranny wants crazy money.
