ls coils on fc3s
ls coils on fc3s
Does someone have a write up on how to completely wire up a set of ls coils on a stock 1991 fc3s with stock ecu, im new to this comm and i have not been able to find a write up on this exact scenario and Im terrible with Auto electric (my weak point, although im getting better at it) thanks in advance to anyone who can give me a simple write up or explanation on what I need and how to wire it proper.
It's unclear why you'd want to do this since the stock coils work fine on a stock-ish engine.

I'm not aware of anyone doing it, because for one it's completely unnecessary on a stock car and stock ECU, and two you can't run direct fire (sequential) ignition, which is largely the point of such an upgrade.
The stock coils are good to power levels well above stock, and you would still be running them in wasted spark. So essentially you're not able to take advantage of main benefit of direct fire coils. Also, almost no one uses the LS coils anymore, many had auto discharge characteristics which have been detrimental. There are also numerous LS coils which all had different quirks and characteristics. IGN1A (aka Smart Coils) are what you would want. Think of them as stout LS coils without the auto discharge.
So if you have a need (power-wise with supporting modifications) and step up to a modern ECU, then this is documented all over this forum and many others.

I dont know if I'm doing it wrong I've never been part of a forum site, I try to search 2nd generation specific and get no hits, the actual problem I'm facing and the reason I ask is because the front housing has no spark when the throttle position sensor is plugged in, I'm terrible at auto electric and just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this, I can unplug the connector and both rotor housings fire and it runs great with a high idle even when at operating temp...but if trying to drive it like that, it has no power or acceleration
