looking for mechanic

Hello,

i have a 1980 rx7 which i am the 2nd owner. i've had for about 7 yrs. i only take
it out in the summers. this summer it has developed a oil leak from engine. my mechanic does not want to deal with it. would like some advise and a good mechanic around new jersey area. thank you in advance.

Where is the leak? Most oil leaks are fairly trivial to fix.

the leak is coming from the seam between the rotor housing and where you pour
the oil into.

If you are sure about that, then this is not a small fix. The entire engine needs to be disassembled.

First make sure that it is not the oil filter pedestal o-rings that are leaking, or the purge valve which is in that area.

i'm pretty sure. i will double check. not a lot of guys want to do the job.
i've asked around and they say the same thing. "i've done that to a rotory engine.
need to find a good mechanic or a good place to buy a engine to replace mine with.
