Looking to get an FD

Hi guys, I've found two possible FD's that I'm interested in and had a quick look at one of them. While I'll be new to the car I have done a considerable amount of research.
I looked at the Sinergy Motorsports one and it was nice and clean, a fresh import apparently. It started up straight away and the idle went just above 2k and dropped quickly to just above 1k. It sounded nice and smooth with nothing out of the ordinary. I didn't find any cracks in plastics but the door handle seemed a little stiff.

The second car is quite a bit cheaper and I'll be asking both about the car's histories if they've ever been in an accident and also if either of them have any compression test logs.

Car two

Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Wow, both cars look to be in great shape. I would assume you will be actually looking at the second car in person as well. Mileage is comparable, equipment appears comparable with both having some aftermarket kit. If the condition of both is comparable, it seems hard not to go for the second one which leaves A$6k to play with! (or even more due to the motivated seller)

Good luck, either way it looks like you'll be an FD owner soon!

Update, checked out the second car, first one doesn't seem like an option now.
Checks all boxes with service records and whatnot. Also a compression test was done by someone else looking at the car. Results are:

Front rotor: 93 90 89 (Should be PSI)

Rear rotor: 99 96 95

Looks relatively good to me if specs are 100 within boundaries of 21?

Was this compression check done on a hot or cold motor ?

It was done at a rotary specialist shop. Another possible buyer got it done and he showed me the papers.

I'm pretty happy with the car and I'll be picking it up later today.

Ok guess not, just got a message from the seller 10 minutes before I left to get the car that it's been crashed when he went to get fuel. Called him up and apparently someone turning drove into him at the lights.

Pretty much totaled according to him, my offer was less than stated and he agreed. There was another buyer a few weeks ago who couldn't get back to him regarding acquiring the funds though. Pretty bummed out.

Just came back from a test drive for the first car so that was pretty good. They've got a few other people looking at it now but I'm not really interested at that price. When I asked about a compression test they just said it 'passed' when it came in.

I'm thinking about a black FD now though. We'll see I guess.

WOW! That's a real bummer. One thing that really irritates me about having a really nice car, one that you put a lot of work and time in, that it's all up to some other moron wrecking it. I wish you good luck in your search.

Well bringing this thread back up again.

Did have a look at a black FD today with 25.5k AUD asking price. The drive was fine albeit a little bumpy.

Visually the car is stock standard but it's had a rebuild around 5000 odd kilometres ago to do an extend port I believe which he firmly assures was purely for reliability purposes only has he doesn't thrash the car nor race it. He is also the first owner for 4 years since it came from Japan.

Apart from the extend port it has a custom made exhaust all the way through, a heavy duty Exedy clutch as the old one was wearing out, a Knight Sports dump pipe and a Power FC.

Might I also add that all the work was done at a reputable rotary shop down here called REVS who only work on rotaries.

What do you guys think?
