Knocking at low speeds

Hi Guys

Just brought my FD after a lot of saving, I've noticed that crawling speeds in first gear at 1,500-3,000 RPM under heavy turning there is a loud knocking sound coming from the back of the car and I am quite unsure what it is.

-Only happens at lower revs
-Only happens at slow crawling/parking speeds
-Only happens when turning (usually when fully locked or nearly full lock)
-Only happens in 1st gear

I have little to no mechanical skill whatsoever and after a bit of googe searching it sounds like it could be anything from a wheel baring to the diff.

Could I get some opinions please, additionally, could anybody give rough estimations for cost for repair (from a garage, not just parts) if possible.

Cheers

It flat out could be anything to do with the rear suspension. Highest on the list would be, as you indicated, differential mounts and rear wheel bearings.

Replacing a diff mount is a fairly big job involving several hours of labor. The mount is cheap.

I'm honestly not sure if the rear wheel bearings on the FD can be replaced vs. just replacing the hub.

Someone with experience will need to diagnose the car.
