Key situation
I recently purchased an 88 rx7 fc and the key I was given only works for the ignition, it doesn't fit the key holes for the doors or the hatch. I was wondering what would be the best option for me in terms of being able to lock my car and only need one key. Should I purchase a new ignition key mechanism that would fit the oem doors? Or is there a way for me to rekey the car so I can use just 1 key for all the locks? I'm not too sure if that's possible or where I should go for that sort of thing. If anyone has any advice or knows how rekeying works I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

You could check with a locksmith shop but I think the easiest solution might be to just source a used set from a parts car...ignition, both doors and hatch. You could keep an eye out at any “U-Pull-it” type salvage yards in your area for a 2nd Gen. with a key.
I’m not sure what the post requirements are (if any) but option #2 would be posting a “Wanted” ad in the 2nd Gen parts for sale section. Be prepared to bump it a couple times over a few weeks and you might get lucky. Check any trader score someone has and use something like PayPal.

You will want to search the yellow pages in a phone book or do a quick Google search for a reputable locksmith in your area. In the meantime I would source a complete lock set from someone parting out a car. You'll need the ignition switch, the door locks, the hatch lock, the storage bin locks, and the glove box lock.
