It entirely depends on what turbocharged 13B you want to go with. For a quick engine list and a good start on engine pricing try this link:

You also need to keep in mind that there is a lot more money involved in an engine swap than just the purchasing of the engine. Are you going to rebuild the engine, or have it rebuilt before it goes in? I suggest you do considering you have no idea how many miles are on it, how long it has sat, and what kind of shape the internals are in when buying a used engine.

Then what kind of transmission are you going to use? If you go with the stock NA transmission, you'll likely not have it last long with the added power. What about the rear end? Keep an open diff, go with a limited slip?

How about ecu? Are you going to replace turbos?

When I first decided that I was going to do an engine swap I thought that it was just engine price since I was doing all the work myself. Boy was I wrong. Chances are you need to replace bushings, springs, struts, the works just to support the extra power again.

I'm not saying not to do this, I'm just saying do a lot of research before committing to a project that you'll end up giving up on because you ran out of finances for the project. Lucky for you this website is the perfect source of information.

I'm getting ready to undertake a 13B-RE swap into my FB. I'm going to be doing a lot of steps on this project, and it is going to have a lot (and I do mean a lot) of time dedicated to it. That is to go without saying, countless money wasted.

I would say you could score a used engine in long block form for around 600-1400, make sure to get the harness and ECU also. Only thing is you won't know the life of the engine. If you feel comfortable enough to rebuild it yourself add another 1200ish to that price.

If you have the tranny you can use the mazdatrix driveshaft that is roughly $300

Realistically I think your are looking at 2000-3000 with a rebuild and around 1000 without the rebuild.
