WA just bought a 86 rx-7 and need some help

i just bought a 86 rx7 13b na and was told that the apex seal went out in it. He said that because the apex seal was out that the car overheated and built too much pressure in the cooling system i have talked to an rx7 shop and they told me that the apex has nothing to do with cooling. Any ideas what it might be i dont know anything bout rotorys

The shop is right. They don't have anything to do with each other. What is the problem? Just not starting? We need more info.

Whether it be a coolant seal or an apex seal, it should be rebuilt.

any reason why if everything is still in good condition, you can't just replace the seals?
would save monies.
