Jdm fd fog light

Hi

This forum has been very helpful so far. But I still have some issues with my car. I have a 1996 jdm fd and the fog lights (rear) won't turn on. I have a little switch in the center console, but when I press it, nothing happens, not even on the dash. I searched on google and on the forum but all I find are tutorials to add fog lights to the car.

Also, I don't have front fog lights, I just have rear ones

Thanks in advance

Follow the wire coming out of the fog light it should run down the right hand side of the car and be connected in around the fuse box in the drivers foot well. Might want to check that a connection has came off or come loose. Same with the switch pull the centre console off and make sure the wires are still attached to the back of the switch.

Check the continuity at the bulb. Take the bulb and stick a multi meter on the bulb terminals with the power on and see if it's actually getting power to the bulb. If not it's just going to be tracing it back to see where your losing it.

Which rear fog lights are you referring to? I have a '92 with factory fogs up front. Switch only toggles those, nothing more. I've never seen an FD with rear fog lights. Actually, the only car in recent memory I've seen with those has been a R34.

Not sure where the OP is based, but in the UK where I am we have to have a rear fog light for MOT purposes. The company that imports them usually add them when the car lands in the UK. Or you would have to do it yourself.

I'm from Luxembourg, you don't need to have working fog lights, unless the is equipped with them. But reading your answers left me wondering where those fog lights should be. Because there is a switch, the fusebox cover says fog lights without brackets around (as opposed to the sunroof one, it has brackets because don't have a sunroof), but as I said earlier, tye switch does nothing. I'm considering removing it entirely, and telling them it came without fog lights when I register it

You can see my add on fog light just below the number plate. Otherwise it wont have a rear.

In the US, the headlights have to be on for the foglights to work. It can be modified fairly easily though.

For posterity to anyone in the U.S. contemplating adding rear fog lights...they would be illegal. A white light illuminated to the rear while the car is in forward motion on a public right-of-way (street) is prohibited in every state I'm aware of.
