Interior lighting?
I was wondering what can cause the interior lighting such as the cluster, gauges, clock, and warning lights to flicker on and off. I was thinking it might be a loose wire connection. Shouldnt be too serious, as its still functioning. Just wanted to see if anyone could put in their .02

I'd definately get a test light and/or multimeter if i were you. The haynes repair manual has full electronic scematics. I'd spend the $16 bucks on it if i were you. It helped me out quite a bit chasing some of my wiring issues. My gauge cluster works but my interior lights do not. I know how you feel.
Dont mean to thread hijack but i think i might have some similar issues with my blinkers.
All my driving lights work. Brake lights work but when i hit my blinkers, nothing. I bet people were thinking i was an ******* driving my car home. Anyway, it clicks and the dash indicators flash but the lights themselves do not.
Any suggestions? Pm me so i dont end up cluster F***ing this guys thread up.

No Pistons: I think your wires may be touching.
I think my wires are loose or touching each other thats why everything is going haywire. Its really odd that your blinkers dont work when you press the brakes lol.
You might just need new bulbs though.
Dont worry about the thread jacking, my thread is your thread lol. We're all here looking for some help so its all good

If you do, they both must be replaced. If you just replace one, the same problem will keep happening.
Generally it is caused by a build up of corrosion in the actual light sockets themselves. Most people do not maintain them, and if the seal is leaking the least bit any moisture will corrode out the socket and cause the problem. It over heats the connections at the light switch.
This is a known issue on the FC and is covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section as well as the top of the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section.
in rotary#10's, the harness has probably burnt enough that when cold the connection is separating just slightly, but as he or she drives, the metal expands re-making the connection.
The only other thing that you occasionally see is if someone has wired a aftermarket radio incorrectly, and used the light wire as ground for the radio... but generally that burns out the dimmer circuit in the light switch or blows a fuse.
again, that is caused by a failing light switch or light switch harness... if you look at the back of the light switch, you will probably see a burnt spot either on the pins of the harness or on the plug on the back of the light switch.
